Were Local Voices Heard in Tallahassee This Year?
Sunshine State lawmakers wrapped up Florida’s annual legislative session in March.
Legislators tackled a number of hot-button issues that elevated #LocalVoices in our communities.
For the first time, local choices will decide if prohibiting smoking at public beaches and parks is appropriate for their communities. An updated state law will also allow local voices to protect our natural resources and habitats by better managing tree-trimming, pruning and removal.
Unfortunately, lawmakers whiffed on legislation designed to protect property values and support quiet neighborhoods by failing to solve problems caused by short-term rentals.
Now, Local Voices United is conducting its annual, informal poll of our supporters across the state — and we want to hear from you!
