Imagine if a distant government decided what hobbies you could have, or if a stranger picked your child’s name for you.
Sound crazy? That’s because it is.
Unfortunately, this scenario mirrors what’s unfolding in Florida's cities today. Our new video, entitled “Voter Approval,” shares how Tallahassee bureaucrats are overstepping their bounds in your neighborhood.
Click to watch:
Florida voters entrusted specific powers to local communities, recognizing that each neighborhood has different needs. Today, one-size-fits-all policies and decrees by distant politicians have eroded local decision-making, to the detriment of Florida’s 400+ cities, towns, and villages.
By giving authority back to local voices, our communities can address unique, local challenges more effectively.
Let's place the power back in the hands of the people who know our streets, our schools, and our community best. After all, who knows our needs better than us?
Mari Estine-Irvin, Vice Mayor of North Miami, has this to say:
“Our community needs our voice now more than ever,” said Vice Mayor Estine-Irvin. “We must return the decision-making power to our local communities, where it rightfully belongs.”
Don't let distant decisions dictate our local lives. Let's reclaim the power of local voices in our communities. Share this video and join the Local Voices United Movement today.
