One government to rule them all?

November 7th, 2024

In America, checks and balances ensure that no one branch of government becomes too powerful.

In Florida, the checks and balances that once protected local decision-making from bureaucratic overreach, are out-of-whack.

WATCH: In 60-seconds, here’s what you need to know:

Local voices want to preserve the character of our local neighborhoods.

Increasingly, distant politicians are transferring the rights of communities to corporations.

It's time to take a stand.

By standing together, the checks and balances that protect our communities and uphold true local governance remain strong.

Lois Paritsky, Mayor of Ponce Inlet, talks about how important local voices are to restore the balance:

"Local voices are crucial in preserving the unique character of our neighborhoods and ensuring that decision-making power remains with the people,” said Mayor Paritsky. “By standing together, the checks and balances that protect our communities and uphold true local governance remain strong.”

Well said. Together, we can restore local voices and checks and balances in the Sunshine State.
