Written for Developers. Paid for by Neighborhoods.

Florida’s communities have always had the right to decide what gets built in their own neighborhoods.

That local authority is now under threat. HB 1143 and SB 948 would take key land-use decisions out of local hands and move them into Tallahassee, where developer interests carry more weight than the voices of residents who live with the consequences.

These bills are moving quickly. Use the form below to tell your lawmakers to oppose HB 1143 and SB 948 and stand up for local decision-making.

What Will Be Sent:

Dear Representative,

I'm writing to urge you to vote NO on HB 1143 & SB 948.

Decisions about Florida’s neighborhoods work best when they’re made locally, in public meetings where residents can be heard and leaders are accountable to the people who live there.

HB 1143 & SB 948 move those decisions out of local communities and into state-centralized mandates. They would limit the ability of cities and towns to apply common-sense standards that protect neighborhood character, infrastructure, and quality of life.

Florida is not one-size-fits-all. What works in one neighborhood may not work in another, and those decisions should not be dictated by state mandates that favor outside interests over local residents.

Please vote NO on HB 1143 & SB 948 and stand up for neighborhoods, not developers.

Sincerely,

[Your Name]
